I rented from here when I was starting a new job in Seattle, moving from Portland. Came up to Seattle one weekend and didn't find what I was looking for that would be available in 2 weeks... So when I returned home, went on-line and found Cobble Court. Website showed the new buildings and the features they had without mentioning the old nasty buildings I ended up in.
Stairway & deck guardrrails were missing, carpet was filthy - not just stained, many abandoned cars in the parking lot - broken windows, flat tires, etc... VERY poor sound thru the walls (your own tv can only drown out so much nasty noise from outside & neighboring apartments - but on a good note, it did remind me there was a Mariners game on :), constantly had stoned kids hanging out on the stairs or sidewalk, kitchen shelving was 3/8" partical board spaning 5'-0" with a 2" sag in the middle - the office's suggestion was to turn it over, first day of work I put a load of laundry in the dryer when I left, and it was still going when I returned 10 hours later! Water bill was higher than electric bill!!! First neighbor I met was a clerk at the video store and when she saw my address, asked if I heard of the dead guy they found on one of the stair landings the week earlier!
In short, it was the ABSOLUTE WORST apartment I've ever set foot in. All rental paperwork was done over the phone/fax prior to being on site, and even with the misc. issues my apartment had I could not get out of the 6 month lease without paying the total rent for the 6 months!!! Needless to say, I spent all my free time looking for another apartment - and ended up moving after about 5 months - paying for the balance, and moving back to PDX and the so very nice complex I was previously in.
