I moved in to cobble court in 2001. I was shown a newer apartment that seemed ok for the price. I signed the lease and got the key. Thats when it all began. It was not the apartment I was shown but an older outdated one. I asked if the rent was going to be cheaper since this was not the one they presented to me when I had agreed to the lease, they did everything just short of laughing in my face. Durning the inital inspection they said it was new carpet yet I found many pen and pet stains so called them on their lie. They also said that the pond is filled in the summer and has a nice fountain in the middle, well summer came and it still looked like a cesspool and no fountain. Then my kitchen cabinet shelf broke as soon as I put a few (bachlor so not many) dishes on the shelf which they never fixed after five years and three work orders. The next thing in my saga was my car was stolen (it even had an alarm) during broad daylight 4pm they later cought the crack head who stole it but it was a total loss. Oh I am not done yet then they moved the garbage from a few yards away to about a block away. This was after I had knee and back surgery so I asked if there was a way they could accomidate me since I was disabled (still am) and the manager accually told me to put it on the back of my wheelchair and wheel it down to the compactor. This violates the persons with disabilities act is what I told them and they said hire a lawyer which I can not afford being disabled and on a fixed income. Then I thought I would get a dog to keep me company as I was stuck in my apartment all the time and was in need of companionship. They said with my sercumstances that I would not have to pay a pet deposit (per leasing agent). So I got the dog and about 6 months later I received a letter stating I was in violation of my lease by having a pet and would have to pay a pet deposit of $300 150refundible 150 non-refundible. This was 2 days before christmas and I had to pay within ten days or vacate the property so I had to pay and there went christmas (dog was my present) sorry friends and family. Later they said my dog was off leash after finding NASTY letters on my door, so I contacted the office and asked what dog where they talking about and it wasn't even the same dog. They had a description on file they did not even take the time to look it up. Also if you are a renter and you need something after hours you are screwed the night leasing agents can not do anything for you except sign up new tenents. The final straw was waking up every saturday morning at 8am to the leafblowers or mowers. Oh and than after two years of living there finding out that I lived in the apartment where the guy was killed on my front steps oh yeah great place to raise yer kids. lol so if your looking for an apartment keep looking this is not the place! One last thought they don't spray for bugs/misquitos and they have a swamp out back hello west nile and the water stinks like sewage. My cheapest water bill was $63.84 and that was when I was on vacation for a month and not even there.

my story is pretty similiar, they showed us the newer apartments than stuck us in the older moldier apartments. Than after NEVER being late for the first year of our contract, they delivered the new contract LATE (their fault) and raised rates by 15%!!! With the crappy maintenance, nasty management personal, we decided to move to a nicer apartment even though it was further from my place of employment. Anyone looking for an apartment should look there... willow springs in puyallup. BEST apartment I've ever lived in. [My cheapest water bill was $63.84 and that was when I was on vacation for a month and not even there.] Yep... and they charge for garbage now as well!
