Dont be fooled...it?s not the place to live.

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2002
Well, I just left this complex in 12/2003 and I have to say, I wish I found this site BEFORE I moved in, haha. Lets run down the list. Mold - I see now, after reading another review here, why they JUMPED on getting it taken care of. They cut a piece out from the underside of the stairs, but left a gaping hole the whole time I was there. No biggie, it didn?t really bother me, but where?s the pride in your apt.' Secondly, noise. You have a load of young arrogant Navy guys living there so they think that it?s important to impress the apartment dwellers with how loud their stereo or muffler is. It was so bad I was about to build a radio interference device so when they drove by it would cut out until they passed. Don?t get me wrong, my system thumps with the best of them, but there?s a time and place to crank it, and in your complex is not it. I complained about 3 times, and it got quiet. Hmm, maybe the ship going out to sea was the real reason, lol. Third, someone mentioned using Silverdales pricing for Port Orchard. Oh man, you weren?t kidding. The rent was WAY too much for what you get. dont get me wrong, I like my apartment, it just wasn?t worth the price. Check THIS out people! When I was moving to the Seattle side to switch colleges, I asked how much it would be if I stayed one more month. She quoted me a price that made my jaw drop. My rent was 645 a month. They were JACKING it up to **780 DOLLARS**! I said," Youre kidding right' That?s crazy!" She verified that it was in fact the truth. I replied," Well, since you?re not the one who sets the prices, I know its probably your upper management...THAT..is...STUPID. Sorry, but thats the truth. People already are shocked to hear I pay this much as it is. Wow." She answered back with," Actually, I DO set the pricing and I had to do that because of the market value right now." All I can say is -HA HA HA-. Check out the neighboorhood people. It isn?t Compton, CA, but for Port Orchard, it?s kind of "ghetto". 780 for an apartment like that' That?s Seattle prices, not little old Port Orchard. Needless to say, I didn?t stay. I handed keys over on Dec 31, and bailed. Lastly, on the list of complaints...and the one that irritates me the most. I JUST got the receipt for my deposit. The info about what they had to charge and what you get back. I am gettin back 15 dollars out of 250. Ok, I know there was a mix-up with the water and I will pay my 82 bucks noooo problem. So what?s left' 55 dollars for carpet cleaning that is mandatory and non-negotiable (which by the way they convienently forget to inform you of when you move in and hand over a nice little check to them). Ok, whatever. She told me that at the time I gave notice to expect that. So we now we have 77 dollars for cleaning. Uhm, I was in the military. I know how to clean. I didn?t leave it boot camp barracks spotless, but I sure didn?t leave it THAT bad. I cleaned, I scrubbed, I vaccummed, etc. etc. Shoot, my mop even broke so I mopped the floor by hand with the sponge. That?s dedication, haha. Well, there?s nothing I can do about that I guess. So we are left with 20 dollars for rent. Wait a minute. I moved out on the 31st, the last day of my lease. Why was I charged for the 1st of Jan 2003' How convienent yet again. I?m just dying to hear their excuse why they had to charge me, because there will be one I?m sure. I know I?ve written alot here, but I for one an getting tired of being "screwed over" by the apartment complex monster that overpowers us all. It seems we, the people, have NO say about their ridiculous rules and deep digging into our pockets because we have no other choice. The fees, charges, and costs they incur are asinine and blatantly wrong in the eyes of morality and good business ethics. I?m a fair person though. The place inside was pretty nice, everything worked, the people were fairly friendly (wouldn?t you be though if you were gettin some poor saps money every month' haha), and I didn?t see any criminal activity going on short of one guy that broke in a womans apt (he fled, she?s safe), and the drunk military guys throwing baseballs over the cars and cursing loudly(hoo-rah respectable armed forces members). So, in conclusion, while the inside of my apt provided me with a place to sleep and drool while I played Xbox, you can spend your money a little more wisely elsewhere. Yes, by the way, dont expect DSL or Cable internet to come anytime soon. I?ve heard from friends who lived there before they were promising that years ago. They are the only place that doesn?t have it in that area. The houses across the street, literally, have it. Take your money, run away...as fast as your little feet will carry you. A nice interior isn?t worth having to put up with the noise, the partymongers raising a ruckus, or the GOUGING they will do on your bank account. Who knows, maybe you will move there and it will be little birds singing (no hummingbirds ever fed at my feeder, haha), little children playing, and you?ll get your deposit back with a peppermint and a smile. The question is, look at the rating, and look at what people are saying here. This place is a wolf in sheeps clothing. Good luck in moving..and start thinking about a house. ;)
