Bait and Switch

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2006
This is long, but worth reading. When my girlfriend and I decided to look at this place (April of 2006) we were shown this very nice apartment (one of the newer building) near the front. We were offered $650 plus utilities marked down from $700 and only for 6 months (which is what we wanted). When we went to sign the lease we "had" to ask why the apartment wasn't the same as the one they showed us and there excuse was they couldn't give us that particular one for the offer they gave us. (Ok, not that big of a deal only and older apartment building and an extra 4 speed bumps to go over on the way home). Then after signing a few other things on the lease we noticed the 6-month lease became a 12-month lease. Again, we "had" to ask and the reason... they couldn't give us "the particular apartment" with the offer they gave us. (''' But it wasn't even the same apartment). We signed anyway figured longer to save more money for a house and we were excited to move in. (Now we have a mid-night drummer living above us). They told us the apartment we are at is very private and lots of parking. It is private because there is only 5 feet of grass from the patio to the fence and parking is very accessible if you park at the other building. So then we decided to get a covered parking spot, an extra $15 dollars a month, well suddenly it has become $25 dollars a month and we haven't see any new covered parking in the complex. And make sure you have a car alarm... a lot of cars have been broken into since we moved in. It is a nice place to stay, don't get me wrong, but, don't be in a hurry to move in and if you are don't show it. They will probably do the same to you. "Bait" you in with the nice apartment near the front and "switch" you to an older one further in when you sign the lease. Also I am adding this on (10-31-06) if you live here make sure your car has an alarm because there are a lot of break in around here and the cops and the apartments have yet to do anything about it. We had our stereo stollen about a week ago.
