When I first moved to the Liberty Ridge apartments in 1994 the staff, led by Property Manager, -----, was excellent and the apartments were nice.

However, after moving several years ago to a different building (to get a top-floor apartment), I was shocked at the apt's condition when it was turned over to me. The refrigerator leaked and the door had a golf ball-sized ding in the door; the microwave exterior was broken; the glass in the oven door was cracked; the kitchen vinyl was damaged; a wall was stained and unpainted; the bathroom fixture surfaces were so deeply scratched they looked as though they had been sand-papered (I had to pay for a plumber to exchange the faucet fixtures between the previous and new apartments as it was so bad), and the bathroom floor had gaps between the wall and vinyl (the maintenance supervisor's solution to this was to put caulking all along the wall to hide the gap - this was utterly shoddy and tacky looking!). Please see photos.

Towards the end of my stay at LR, the property manager let it slip during a phone conversation with me that the maintenance supervisor had entered my apartment (without my prior knowledge or permission). I had not been notified of the landlord's intent to enter my apartment prior to them doing so, which is against WA State Tenant/Landlord laws. When he entered my apartment, the apartment across the hall from mine was vacant, making it easy for him to sneak in. After that, I always felt uneasy wondering if my apartment was being entered by the maintenance guy without my knowledge.

And later, any complaints to the manager about delays in getting repairs done (it took over 10 days just to get the washing machine nob replaced so the machine was operable!!) were simply met with a little pout from the 2004-2006 manager -- she didn't appear to care at all about the repair delays and violations made by the maintenance supervisor (she and the maintenance guy had a close working relationship).

Because of all this, I feel the management at LR is in extreme need of adult supervision. It was not only the bad state of the second apartment and the maintenance sup's subsequent unlawful entry, but that many times when I went to the office to pay rent or pick up packages, the maintenance crew of two were just hanging out there gossiping. The leasing agent, the youngest employee at the time, was in my opinion the most mature of the bunch.

The property management company did not respond/resolve the problems either; leaving me no other choice but to contact the apartment complexes' owner. In the end, feeling that the lack of quality and professionalism at LR was beyond hope for the better, I moved, which is one of the best decisions I've ever made!

I was a good tenant, there for over a decade, always paying my rent on time, got along well with all my neighbors and was quiet. My rent had gone up only $20 in three years because I was considered a good resident. I believe the maintenance supervisor's bad behavior towards me was due to my friendship with the 2002-2004 property manager. They did not have a good working relationship, thus, by association, I believe I was black-listed by him. Unbelievably immature! I've read other LR reviews which mention the high vacancy rate. I think they lost a good and needed tenant when I chose to leave.

I completely agree also although the maintenance sup entering without your permission I would have reported his ass in a heartbeat! These people need to get their ---- together or else...

Although this is an old review,I feel that I must speak on behalf of the maintenance man. The reviewer reveal the circumstances as to why he entered the apaertment. I do however know this man. He is a honest, hardworking idividual. He would never do anything unethical or abuse the trust placed into him. I think it is very unfair to trash this person with out presenting all of the facts involvded. shame on you.

I fully agree that it was wrong for anyone to enter someones apartment without permission unless maybe, the place was on fire or flooding etc.. It is against the law and this person and the complex should have been brought up on charges. The complex should also have been made to pay for the relocation of this person because, I am sure after this she would not feel safe in her own home, I wouldn't.
