College Crest is owned by Campus Commons. In fact, it is the ugly stepchild of campus commons. No extra time or expense is spent on the upkeep of College Crest or the comfort of it's tenants. The stairs are constantly falling apart. My roommate's boyfriend actually fell through the stairs once. One of the exterior doors does not shut. We put in a work order and some months later a man stopped by, hit the door with a hammer, and said there was nothing more he could do. Before I moved in, one of my roommates put a work order in to have the doors painted. By the time I moved in, someone had come by. The result: One paintbrush stroke on the corner of one of the doors. Furthermore, I wrote four checks for my October rent. The first I wrote the wrong date, I accidentally used the day before, and they called me to tell me that my check was bad and i had to rewrite it. So we tore that check up and I wrote a new one... which they lost and charged me a late fee for not paying the rent. So I went to talk to the manager and she had me cancel that check and write a new one. Well later they found that original check and tried to cash it, but I had canceled it so it came back insufficient funds. So I had to go back and try to explain all that to the new manager who didn't believe me. I had to threaten to get my lawyer involved to get anything done. Overall they have tried to evict me three times because the staff has absolutely NO bookkeeping skills. Thinking back, I don't know why I didn't just let them evict me and find a better place to live.
