I lived at NCH for almost 5 years. Yes, it did take awhile for things to get fixed. Yes, the grounds were messy. And yes, the staff could get a little surley if you make it tough for them. I paid my rent on time every month. I cleaned my apartment before I moved in, fixed a few things on my own, every year I had the carpets cleaned, kept the place nice and had no problem get my ENTIRE deposit back.

The rent was cheap, I made sure I knew my neighbors, and maintained a good relationship with the management. I think if you treat a place like it's your own, you will find more good things than bad in the end.
