I lived in Meadow Brook from December 2006 to may 2008. I had always thought that the apartments were decent and the facilities were ok....But then towards the later part of my stay things started happening which werent nice to experience...and then the final confrontation with the people at the leasing office was super painful, shocking and frustrating.

The apartments are ok and nothing more than that...Our toilet was clogged 70% of the time and would even over flow...The fixtures were not good either....The maintenance for the exterior is ok...but my experience with the apartment maintenance was really bad...I asked them to have a look at the toilet and the door knob of the main door which they did not look into until 3-4 days had elapsed...they came...did something with the toilet and left the door know as it is...

In 2007 there were a couple of times when some of the tenants would start fighting in the middle of the night in fron tof the area that used to be the leasing office...it continued for a week and eventually someone had to call the cops...But then its a university town and one can understand a bit of rowdiness...
What turned out to be even worse was the fact that the people had become extremely rude as far as using the laundry facilities were concerned...They would come and take your laundry out of the machines....sometimes not take it out but open the door to the dryer so that when you come back after an hour to take it out you realize that the machine was barely on for 5 minutes and your clothes are still all wet...
My clothes even went missing and turned up in the laundry room 2 weeks later....Obvioulsy the office never cared and never did anything about it...

The final blow was the atitude of the leasing office when I left...they sent me a bill of 1026 dollars for the security deposit agreement....They changed everything in the apartment and even went to the extent of lying about things (such as Trash left in apartment for which they charged $45) they replaced everything and charged us for everything....when apart from the walls with pinholes and screw holes...nothing really needed replacement....


When I called they said that discussing the security deposit clauses over the phone wasnt their policy....To avoid the negative impact on my credit I asked by when would I have to pay and they said that they dont know but they would call before sending collections people...Two girls in the office by the name of Helene and Carlie talked over te phone and were the meanest people one would ever meet...They refused to give me their supervisors name and telephone number...and after an altercation over the phone refused to even acknowledge my phone calls...My friends who are from India even went to the leasing office before I had called bu the people there have a very negative attitude towards foreigners and refused to talk to them properly when they came to know that the questions were regarding the security deposit agreement...

All in all DO NOT LIVE HERE...IF YOU ALREADY ARE...GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS YOU!
