Abusive Management

The turn over in residents is reflective of the turn over in staff and management at Addison Greens. More tenants and staff leave then come in as a result of poor management, marketing decisions and tenant-landlord relations. My experience was great until they decided to raise my rates over 10%, which if anyone is aware of fair market value - that is not fair. The manager, "Launie" has abusive practices which completely breach not only tenant's leases, but the landlord-tenant act. She is dishonest and bullies/intimidates tenants by using lease jargon that is inaccurate in hopes that the tenant will not know their rights.

They ask for a $200 non-refundable cleaning fee upon moving in. This may seem like a great deal because they have not typically asked people for deposites. However, when you move out, Launie will do a walk through before you even move out and assess cleaning fees for very trivial items. I guarantee you that no matter how spotless you leave an apartment, you will receive a cleaning fee greater than the cleaning fee you've already paid. In addition, they do not deduct the cleaning fees from what you pay. According to the WAC and RCWs - they cannot charge cleaning fees if you've already paid one.

Finally, a tenant moving out can expect to see a bill greater than $500. $300 typically for cleaning, $300 to paint - it's in the lease, and whatever Launie chooses to charge you for carpet and blind cleaning despite what's in the lease and legal according to the landlord tenant act.

I did enjoy living here, but that is irrelevant. I wish I knew how I would be abused before I moved in. Finally, the carpets are cheap. The style falls apart and will plug up your vacuums - I went through two. It wasn't just me, my neighbors had the same problems.

They charge deposits now. And I know that the move out bills are not average over $500. It is in the lease, pg 5, that shows what they can and cant charge you for. They also do minus the cleaning fees from your balance owing per the RCW codes. While I am not sure of the manager, I do know that the staff in general tries their hardest to make residents happy. Business is business and I guess they cant make everyone happy. I should know, I used to live here too. Different experience with the move out probably because I had my apartment cleaned when I turned in keys. Also, FYI, I was there when they did the inspection prior to me turning in keys and it was not to put charges down, it was so that they could properly budet for damages. Maybe you should talk to the office staff before you start running at the mouth. The staff, no matter how much it changed, tried their best and it seems this person just is a rude, selfish person that doesnt see anything good in anything. You dont here him/her upset about how they gave them one-two months free? Weird.

I would like to thank the idiot who wrote a response to my review. Your response angered me because it attempted to discredit my experience. Because you angered me with your beligerant attack on my review - continued to research my claims against Addison Greens for excessive charges. I pulled out page 5 of my lease and my Apartment Inspection Report - indeed my lease was broken by Addison greens. First of all, Lonnie altered my inspection report. I found first of all, that she charged me the painting fees for a 3 bedroom apartment when I lived in a one bedroom apartment. In fact, all of the fees I was charged reflected the 3 bedroom rates. I should have been charged (according to my lease) $250 for painting, where as I was charged $375. I was charged $115 for carpet cleaning whereas I should have been charged $75. I should have been charged $60 for the blinds, whereas I was charged $80. THAT IS A BREACH OF MY LEASE. However, I've been contesting that Lonnie has altered my documents all along. After reviewing the checkout form - I discoved that she did a checkout for a 3-bedroom apartment when I lived in a 1-bedroom apartment. Thank you idiot for pointing out page 5. I guess you're good for something. My confusing comes when I'm trying to figure out their intentions. Maybe the idiot can answer this question. Did Lonnie do this on purpose, or is she stupid?
