Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2004
I have lived at the Hamptons for an holy 4 years. This has been the WORST four years of apartment living that I have ever incurred. First of all, when looking for an apartment we were shown a model, that was promised to be identical to the apartment we were to get. It wasn't until the day we moved in that the cat was let out of the bag. The apartment we were given looked NOTHING like the model we were promised. The maintance staff is HORRID. My boyfriend had to repair our leaking toilet after several attempts by the maintance staff to correct the problem were unsuccessful. Also, when the roof began leaking and water damage occured over our fireplace the maintance man's solution was to paint over the water damage, and when the damage reoccurred after the next rain his answer was, "It needs more paint." Our dryer has stopped working multiple times, and after a pipe burst in the ceiling above us it took three months to have the hole fixed from where the water broke through the ceiling. These are just a few of the problems we've had inside our apartment. Now lets discuss the outside. Our neighbors have Two large German Shephards that defecate everywhere on the grounds, and they never pick up after them. The grass in front of our building has been killed by the dogs and is now a poopy, muddy, mess. Everytime we walk down the steps into our building a strong smell of dog feces is evident, and it is embarrassing to bring anyone over because of it. Also my car has been broken into 5 times, and vandalized more than I can count. All of these problems by the way have been brought up to the staff who really do not care.
Another area of major concern is when our upstairs neighbors, caught their kitchen on fire, and no mention or warning was made to myself when I was in my apartment sleeping at the time. Then after their apartment was repaired and ready to be rented their smoke detector started going off in the middle of the night. When I called the maintance to come find out the problem, their solution consisted of taking the batteries out of the unit that was going off. Oh, and did I mention that the maintance man on call that night was stumbling and smelled of alcohol. All and all I have had nothing but problems with these apartments, and have found an unhelpful and rude staff.
