Great place to live

Years at this apartment: 1998 - 2001
I have lived here for over 3 years and it is by far the best apartment I have lived in. The apartments seem well built as I almost never hear noise coming from my neighbors. I usually feel like I am the only one in the entire building. The buildings are secure and have underground parking. The elevators are convenient for everyday use, but they are far too small when moving, at times making it difficult to manuever large furniture in and out. However, if you have enough help and coordinate your move well (like I did) we seemed to get the furniture in with no major problems.
The management does a pretty good job. With the few problems I've had they seem to get on top of them right away.
One thing that drives me insane is the complete disregard for the dumpster areas that residents show. In the dumpster facility assigned to my building and one other, there is constantly garbage everywhere on the ground and random furniture will sit within the area for weeks (sometimes months). The management has sent out memos about this, but no one seems to care. It can be fairly disgusting at times. The management does have their maintenance people clean it from time to time when it gets really bad.
In my particular building, guest parking is not bad, but I know that in the other buildings this can be a problem. There is not a whole lot of landscaping to speak of, but the large wooded greenbelt that divides the apartments is lovely.
I currently pay $980 for a two bedroom, two bath unit on the top floor with a view of the wooded greenbelt and a partial territorial view of Redmond. This is a great deal compared to everything else I've looked at in Redmond. I think the square footage is something like 1092. There is a dishwasher, garbage disposal, full-size washer and dryer, fireplace and a decent size deck. For the most part the design is very space-efficient, however there is not really any room for a dining area. The master bedroom and master bath are huge.
The location of the apartments is great. Close to grocery stores, drug stores, shopping and movie theaters. The traffic out on Remond-Woodinville Road can be a bit of a hassle during typical high traffic hours, but it has never been a major problem for me.
Most of the color schemes are pretty normal for apartments, but I know that there is a color-scheme in some of the one bedroom apartments that is ghastly and they have no intention of changing it. If you can live with teal carpet and salmon and white linoleum, go for it.
