We really enjoyed the complex, the place was beautiful. The staff was really nice.
BUT when we decided to move, the staff became less friendly with us. We cleaned the apt really well, but they still charged us for no reason. When we called them to have explaination, they never returned our call back. So if you are thinking of going there, give yourself some time at the end to negociate and keep in mind that the staff is there to maximize their profite and not to be "really" friendly...

I have to agree with the cleaning charge comments. I cleaned my apartment for a full day and a half prior to moving out - we scrubbed around the sinks and cracks with a toothbrush, dusted the baseboards, even cleaned out the washer and dryer and on top of the cabinets by the ceiling. When the assistant manager came to view the apartment, she said over and over "wow, it's really clean." She said she would be surprised if there was any kind of charge to have things done because it was so nice.
Guess what? We had a cleaning charge. Would have fought it if we hadn't moved across the country.
We also had a carpet cleaning charge - we'd just had it done a few months before, and with two adults with no kids and no pets, it looked almost as good as new. We were very careful. But we got soaked for that as well anyway. *laugh*
I doubt Jan ever even went through the apartment to see for herself that it was clean before she hired someone to come in. It's a shame, especially since we're back in the state of WA again and are in the market to rent for a bit. Won't go back while she's there, though.

I could not agree more with the cleaning comments. I left the apartment cleaner than when I moved in, but was hit with many illegitimate charges. For example, I was hit for soot in the fireplace, even though I had never used the fireplace while there. I was hit for scratches to a light fixture, even though the scratches had been there when I moved in, and had been marked on the move-in damage form. Unfortunately, I moved due to a job in a different location, and in the stress of moving while starting a new job, I couldn't find my move-in form as proof until after I had settled into my new place. So Jan probably counts on that and capitalizes on it. It's great for her short-term gains, but it also means that I'm yet another former tenant who will never go back.

Apartment Ratings is very helpful. We are having to move again and were looking at some in the Redmond area. We sure won't be renting at this place after reading the way some of these people were treated. It's a shame that there are management types like that who just want the profit but in the end are losing business. Thank you for the reviews.

Agreed. It's like Hotel California. You can check out any time you like, but leaving is going to cost you. They are a rip off. And the management is anything but friendly if they do not approve of your "life choice." God forbid one stays out late. You'll hear about it. If you don't fit the mold- 2.3 kids, straight, married... you will face discrimination. And Lord knows the deposit is going to get eaten up, nevermind the state laws regarding standard wear and tear. Jan Maybee needs to be fired. The place is nice in terms of location, but no landlord has the right to accost me about my sexual practices, or snoop about in front of my door, letting her cats run the halls while they hiss and scratch at you. There are several larger, nicer places up the road anyway for less money. Rent just went up here again. I'm out of here.
