Memos, Memos, Memos, Did I mention Memos'
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 9/20/2008
Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
There is a new memo every week posted in the elevator...your front door, both doors into the building and the doors in the stairwell. They have come into my apt 4 times this year for things like inspection then there was a sprinkler issue, they had to clean the chimmney, they were installing fios (which won't be useable for 3 months) they had to come into my apt to take the screen off to clean the windows.
We have had 2 false fire alarms due to system malfunction, and when they tried to repair didn't notify tenets of the repairs so when they tested the alarms no one home new it was a test. The fire alarms also sound alot like the door buzzer.
The apartment manager has a problem with listening. She will repeat over and over you need to do something you already said you were going to do.
Recently, we were informed that we are no longer allowed to back into parking spaces in the above ground parking but the garage stalls will be allowed to. There is no explination for this.
She is also very forgetful. She forgets peoples move in dates and where she puts things, when she has promised things and when she has been asked to call you back with important information.
Most of these things you won't agree to when you sign the rental agreement, but she will still require you to sign more documents agreeing to whatever memo she's written this week.
The rent continues to rise from reasonable to painful as more tenets move out. The spa hasn't worked for more than a year and a half.
There are constant power outages, We have at lest one a month.
The walls aren't straight they have waves in them, the corridor's carpet is poorly done and has bubbles in it even though it was replaced last year. The halls also always smell odd and the fregrance dispencers in them aren't enough to cover it.
During rush hour it is impossible to turn out of the complex you have to hope someone will be nice enough to let you in.
The angles of this apartment are insane and hard to work around with furniture, and getting furniture in is hard. The stairwell doors to differnt floors are all locked so they have to be proped open to get anything into, there is no service elevator, it is near impossible to get a full sized couch onto another floor. There is also no storage space in the apartment if you want storage you have to rent a separt unit from them, which may not even be on the same floor as your apartment.
