Worst moving out experience EVER!!!

We lived here for 3 years and things always seemed fine, but at the time of moveout the manager gave us soooooo much grief.
Before I moved out, I had the assistant manager come over and look at my daughters bedroom which had some crayon marks on them and she assured me it was no problem because it would be painted over anyways.
After we moved out, we fully expected to get our deposit back and instead got a bill for like $1100. WHAT'!#%^
They tried to bill us for the crayon marks that I was ASSURED were ok or I would have taken care of them.
We got billed for bent window screens that we never touched except for when the complex asked us to remove them for yearly cleaning. They sent us the bill saying on a said date they had already had to replace the screens. My husband drove up and new people were there and they had not replaced them. He took a picture with our camera that has date stamp and that was removed from our bill. They were trying to charge us for something they had no intention of replacing.
They also billed us for completely recarpeting the apartment. They hadn't even tried to clean it (in our lease, it showed that if you were there for more than a year, they cleaned them - or else we would have had them cleaned) They just decided to replace it all and bill us.
When we disputed the bill, they instantly sent it to collections, which threatened lawsuits.
The collections place looked over our lease and realized we were not at fault - but talk about a stressful moving out!!!!!!!
We were ideal renters, always on time, not loud music. It was ridiculous the stress they gave us afterwards. It will steer me away from Burnstead stuff forever.

If they are that bad, take it up with the Better business bureau?

Funny there were many more negative responses a couple of days ago. Wonder how the manager did in order to have them removed.
The place is wonderfull, but as this comment stated management is horrible and yes, be prepared for a moving out nightmare. In any case, read your rental contract and fight them!
