I've lived at Avalon Redmond Place for 2 years, and just renewed my lease for another year and my rent was actually lowered significantly. :) I was thrilled that I didn't have to move because of price reasons. We have a renovated unit and have had very few problems. The few problems we have had from normal wear and tear were quickly fixed. But the best part of this specific apartment complex is the location. You are literally a minutes walk from a 24hour QFC, a movie theatre, Hollywood video and gamecrazy not to mention all the restaurants and fastfood within a few minutes walking distance. The apartment is right next to the police station(so you do feel very safe), and behind that is the library and the city hall. Plus there is a walking trail next to a river right behind the complex to jog on or ride bikes on. The area in general is very nice and seems very family friendly.
We have had very few problems of any kind and would rate this apartment very well, and we are in one of the older back buildings. The building itself is old, but the inside of the apartments are very nice) I have moved apartments in Redmond nearly every year for the past 4 years and can tell you this is great by comparison. (Ive moved once to a different unit in the same complex) Sure the buildings are not the newest but the other perks more than make up for it. The construction around our unit has slowed and the apartments are in constant upkeep which is mostly a good thing but it can get noisy sometimes. I can always find parking right in front of my building and all the neighbors seem friendly. Not a single crime or crime related incident to my knowledge in the past 2 years.
My biggest complaint and it is a small one, is that we now have to mail off our rent each month to an Avalon headquarters somewhere instead of just turning in rent to the front office. Not a big deal. I also noticed that people have complained about the mold, I will say that you will have to clean mold out of your windows and under your door a few times a year. I don't think this is the apartments fault, its just the Redmond area combined with the older buildings. Overall I recommend this apartment.
