Avalon Redmond Place formerly Gallery Place

Pricey and somewhat bland

Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2001
Living conditions at Avalon Redmond Place were mostly pleasant, though the complex doesn't exhibit much life. My apartment was spacious and the carpets and appliances were high quality. The seam at the front door let all kinds of insects inside, though (and even a frog one time!). The ceilings were extremely thin, too. When my upstairs neighbor walked across her apartment, it sounded like a herd of stampeding elephants above my living room.
Ultimately I left Avalon Redmond Place because of the price. Even though area rents were staying steady or even falling (this was during the dot-com crash), the apartment manager wanted to raise my rent every time my lease came due. They would not let me sign 1 year lease extension because they said they couldn't hold the rent steady for that long. I didn't like being locked into a situation where I had no idea when my rent would stop rising.
