Big negatives:

- Laundry machines are outside!!

- You get bitten by bugs on the way to doing your laundry in the summer.

- You freeze and get soaked on your way to doing your laundry in the winter.

- There were fleas in my apartment! My roommate and I got bitten up very badly in the first 3 days before we realized the problem was fleas. Ravenswood paid for extermination.

- They chaged us a cleaning fee of $185 even though the apartment was left very clean.

- We told them we were only going to stay for the 3 summer months, we paid an extra $100 a month due to a short-term lease, we told them during our last month payment that "this is the last rent check", and we told them the furniture movers were moving out our furniture so they?d need apartment access while we were at work doing the last few days of our stay. Despite all that, they tell us during our last week that we never gave them a notice to vacate and even we moved out in August, they charged us for September for an entire month's rent plus $200 (they told us that the rent had increased $100 and that we still had to pay the $100 short-term lease fee'!'!).

- The lease says that we are permitted but not obligated to continue the next month if we do not give the notice to vacate. They ignored that and hired a collections agency when we initially refused to pay.


- There are complaints against their company, HSC Real Estates, in the local BBB.

Positives:

- They have decent tennis courts.

- They are dirt cheap compaired to nearby apartments.

- They are close to Microsoft.

- It looks like dogs are allowed, as evidenced by the fleas that greeted us.

- The staff, while not very honest, is friendly.
