Despite a 2006 freshening under the Avalon flag, this complex has slowly sunk back into ill repair and upkeep. Folks do not throw their garbage away or leave it in the dumpster areas. The carport and sidewalk lighting is out in many parts of the complex. Parking is bad without a reserved space and the garages are narrow and almost impossible to park in. There are no sidewalks around the complexes ring road and people often drive erratically and very fast with pedestrians nearby. Mold is an issue. Carpets soil easily and wear out quickly. Electrical heaters mean big power pills. Old, aluminum frame windows don't keep the wind out and condensate water. Floorplans are dark & gloomy. Maintanence is slow. The actual property management company has changed 3-4 times in the last 2 yrs as well. $ per sq. ft was OK in 2007, but is now totally out of line for level of amenities offered. They do accept pets, but a big pet deposit AND pet rent are required. Note: many residents of the complex are terrified of dogs however.
I moved here to be able to walk to work. But now that my office has moved to Eastgate, I will not be renewing my lease and moving to a new complex where my rent buys me more amenities and fresher digs.
