Some Good Aspects, Some Bad

We've lived here a few months now so I wanted to write a review as I found reviews very helpful in our apartment search. We rent a 2 bd 2 ba 2 car garage townhouse. The rent is outrageous, but no where else we we able to find 1,200 sq ft of space with a 2 car garage in the area. All the staff has been great to us. Maintenance is fast. They are just finishing up an exterior paint job that took forever but really updated the look.
I would not recommend this place to those who will have more cars then reserved spaces. Parking is a problem for those not in the townhomes. For us, we have our two cars in the garage, half a space on the side of the garage for storage, and a spot in front of the garage if needed for guests. The townhomes are very quiet--we hear nothing on one side, and only hear plumbing sounds on the shared plumbing wall. It has to be very quiet to make out any footsteps, etc. In our apartment, it feels more like a house to me.
The finishes on the apartment look nice at first, but are a bit sloppy (paint on the flooring). I'll take quiet and safe over fancy any day though. We had new carpet for our move-in. Hopefully we can continue to stay here, because we can't afford a rent increase that seems inevitable.
They bill the water odd here as it comes from a non-local company, and they pass on a few dollar service fee. Nothing can be done about this though. I'd say the appliances are fairly efficient (I think they have been updated since the place was built). Our summer electric bills were about $50-60, which includes a lot of cooking and laundry.
I'd recommend Avalon Bear Creek if you get the townhouse model. I can't speak much for the other floorplans, but it seems like all apartments have the same noise issues. As for car break-ins, this area already has high statistics for it. Don't leave valuables laying out--I've rarely heard of car break-ins that didn't involve valuables on the seats, a high-end stereo, etc.

I live in a 2bed townhome too. I agree with your assessment, although I would recommend living here just as long as a carport or garage was secured when you moved in.
