My husband and I lived in a corner 2-level unit for a couple of years before moving to a larger 3-level townhouse with a roommate.

Rents are high-ish, but it's a good area that's close to Microsoft, Bella Botega, Redmond Town Center, 520, etc.

It takes about 15-20 minutes to get to Seattle if there's no traffic, and only about 5-10 to get over to Microsoft.

I can occasionally hear my neighbors shower/toilet flushing and if people are having loud fights or whatever (though that is uncommon! :) but overall it's pretty quiet.

We're allowed to have a BBQ on our balcony/porch, which is nice.

Lots of people have plants and gardens growing on their balconies as well which I like.

My biggest complaint is that some of the finishes have started to go.

The white laminate that they cover cupboard doors/drawers with has started peeling off in places and the carpet seems to be perpetually dirty even though we bought a steam cleaner.

However, a friend moved in recently and I noticed that they're putting in better carpet (berber').

Not sure if they're repairing the cupboard coverings, though.

Another problem is that, at least in our unit, the floors on the 3rd floors are TERRIBLY creaky! Probably not a good sign from a structural standpoint, but I don't know if this is just with our unit or if it's common in others.

I like being right next to the Sammamish River trail which connects up with the Burke-Gilman and will take you all the way over to Gasworks Park (About 20 miles by bike) or a few miles to Redmond over by Whole Foods.

It's nice to go to the grocery store on your bike and not have to deal with driving/traffic! Redmond Town Center is also just off the trail, and you can take the 520 trail up to Microsoft as well.

There is a pool but it's always filled with noisy kids so I haven't used it.

There are definitely a lot of kids around so it can be noisy when school lets out.

The reason we rented here in the first place was because they didn't charge you a non-refundable pet rent each mont on top of the refundable deposit, but that has since changed.

We're grandfathered into the 'no pet rent' agreement even though they DO charge this for new renters.

What a rip-off...

If Avignon management is reading this, please know that you are losing a lot of good customers this way.

Just because someone has a pet doesn't mean it's destructive.

Our two quiet cats just chill out every day and haven't done a lick of damage.

We just received a notice in the mail that the apartment office will no longer be accepting UPS/Fedex packages if you're not home, so that kind of defeats the purpose of them being there.

I'm sorry, but that really seems to be the only value-add that the apartment office provides in my opinion.

We can just drop our rent check off and not have to interact with anyone if they aren't going to provide a valuable service like this anymore.

We'll probably be moving soon because of this, actually.

Now that house prices are coming down, the rents being charged here seem a little high.

Are you still there??? I just got a bill from the for over $1500 ... replacement of carpet and $250 for paint... etc even though there are no stains or damage!! They refused to do a final walk through because they didn't have time!!! I called the office and was yelled at when I asked for proof in regards to the damage. They will charge you.. just because you have a pet!!!!

This was pretty much exactly my experience as well! I seriously couldn't stand living their or dealing with those incredibly rude people that work there! All they want to do is argue with everyone and blame everything that goes wrong on the tenants!
