We lived here for two years, from late 1997 until early 2000. It pretty much sucked. The worst things about it: (1) Our first apartment (F building) looked out onto about 6 other apts, so we always felt we had people looking in on us. Bad layout of complex; (2) seemed like a lot of the apts around us had like 20 people living in them, so it was noisy, and having 6 apts looking in on is really meant 120 people (Ok, exaggeration, but you get the point); (3) floors were very squeaky in numerous areas; (4) The gate has no business being there. There is not enough of a driveway and the lanes are not wide enough to accomodate one lane of visitors and a second lane of tenants who just want to go home at the end of a long day. I remember many evenings being backed up on Avondale, cursing the cars in front of me. Made for a hostile situation, and serves no purpose except for management to have a reason to raise the rent.

Later we moved to the Q building which overlooked the parking lot and was MUCH better. Still: (1) the one BR floorplan is cramped. There is nothing unique or charming about the floorplan -- just basic postage stamp style. Only good thing is it had a washer/dryer.

Things that were tolerable: The price was the most affordable in Redmond at the time. In 1999 we paid $750 for 740 square feet. I'm sure it's gone up since then, but that is the ONLY reason we stayed as long as we did -- because it was CHEAP.

Management used to leave really annoying letters/notes on our door. Most of the time we wanted to be left alone. They weren't really unprofessional, just annoying.

Maintenance problems were fixed pretty quickly.

The only way I recommend this apartment complex is if the rent is still the cheapest in town, and you really, really need the money.
