Every complaint written here has happened to me at least once while living here. This used to be a nice place to live but more and more the good tenants are getting SCREWED while the noisy\problem tenants are allowed to live here in peace. Domestic violence occurs more than they let on. There have been instances of a "gang" of kids (one group of about 10 kids causes 90% of the problems) running around the grounds yelling and screaming and even harassing a few tenants. For a couple of years any complaints made by me or my friends (ie noise, stereos at full volume after 10:00 at night, kids RUNNING down the halls etc etc) were completely ignored! That did change a little with are newest manager but still we listen to screaming (and I mean top of lungs screaming!) of children, unruly behavior, graffiti, property damage and theft. Oh, that's right no one mention THEFT. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING is safe to be left outside your apartment. People have taken bikes (from a "secure" bike room with a security camera yet) decorations (ie door decorations) and believe it or not several welcome mats. Oh and before I go I better mention that the "security" doors that let you in with a card key are a JOKE!! They are constantly screwed with to keep them open. I personally have seen them broken as in KICKED open, stuck open with super glue (several times), the locks stuck open with everything from paper to gum, security my ASS. Our apartment doors don't even have a chain to stop anyone from breaking in, just a crappy deadbolt. I mean security is so lax that people (tenants and troublemakers alike) just stand by an outside door and wait for someone with a keycard to let them in. I have actually been threatened by people who I tried not to let in (both for my security and because of at least one nasty episode of domestic violence in my building). Unless you are desperate I would look elsewhere. They make this building out to be wonderful low income housing but it is definately NOT!! Neither low income or wonderful. I have friends who live in Seattle in true low income housing that is the Ritz compared to this place. Lower rent and their apartments have balconies. Something they could have done here... Don't get me started on the CRAPPY\What a joke\Who the hell hired this incompetent construction company to build this place. I have nothing to gain from this except to save someone from getting stuck here when they might have an option to go elsewhere. Oh, forgot to tell you that the "wonderful" bus transportation here is a JOKE. They just canceled a route through here that several people needed. If you don't work 9-5 M-F you are screwed as far as bus transportation! Don't believe their press...

I could continue... But I'll leave you with this: JUST DON'T RENT IT!!

This was an honest, fair review. I couldn't have written it better myself. Actually - I would have been far more scathing in my review... Village at Overlake Station sucks. I'm so glad I don't live there anymore. I feel bad for my friends that are still stuck there. They all can't wait until their leases run out so they can escape.

I do not understand what kind of people actually have time to sit down and watch these horrible things happen. I mean maybe you should go out and get a life instead of sitting at home doing nothing and having the government pay for your rent AND spying on your neighbors. I was not going to do this but after reading this review i definately think the village deserves more respect! I think it is very unfair that there is people like you out there! So why dont you move? I am sure they will find somebody to fill in your stop that would love to be there! Is it because you are on Section 8? Or is it because you need to move on to an old peoples home? Its got to be one of those reasons!!! And PlEASE find something better to do with your time!! Because laziness is not going to get you anywhere!

Some one please get the above tenant a Kleenex. Did you ever hear "you get what you pay for" I know for a fact that you can not get anything better in this area for the price. Yes like every apartment complex it has its little problems, but this is just part of living in a apartment. And as far as the bus thing, The apartment complex has nothing to do with the buses as far as routes or schedules. The buses are controlled by (King County) Metro. This issue should be taken up with them. In short I would (and have) recommend this complex to friends and family. The only thing you have to really watch out for here is the grumpy old people that walk around and talk trash about the complex and the world they live in, and I assume the above person falls into this group.
