First- I've read the other reviews and agree with some of the issues. My account of living at Montclair Heights is based solely on the buildings located near Puget Drive. That wing of the complex is where my examples and experiences come from. I can not comment on any other part of the complex.
I've lived here for 2 years now and I can honestly say the new management team has made huge improvements. When we first moved in my upstairs neighbors had huge parties every night and people coming and going at all hours. We had 2 shootings in the complex and the SWAT team was called in. I also had young boys in the he back of my building with a gun at one point. Now after saying that, since the new management team has started there has been a drastic improvement. My family can sleep at night and the complex is quiet. If I do have a problem with a noisy neighbor (which comes with living in an apartment and is expected) the security agency that we use is amazing. They respond quickly and have always been helpful and polite.
I've noticed in many of the reviews the manager does not seem well liked. The manager was brought in to make drastic changes in a timely matter. The notices we receive don't give us much time to prepare and it is a huge pain. But the goal and the intention isn't to make your life harder or to personally attack you (which is how some of the reviews sound) but to improve your home and neighborhood.
The management team can not make everyone happy. They seem to be trying but someone will always be unhappy and find something to complain about. My personal experience with each management member has always been professional and friendly. If I do have a problem then I talk to them about it to see what our options are. We need to work with them and try and be helpful because the goal is to fix a problem.
No one should be surprised about what the complex is like. You get a feel for the enviornment in the complex as you research where you want to live. Renton has it's tougher areas. Montclair Heights is not located in the best part of Renton but certainly not the worst. There are always Pros and Cons. But it is not the managements fault or responsibility to decide where you want to live. You need to take some responsibility on your choice. (refering to other reviews)
Your experience here at Montclair Heights is whatever you want to make it. If you want to only focus on the negative then your experience isn't going to be pleasant. Maybe focus on the positive because if you look around it's a beautiful place to live.

i agree on some points that there are worse places in renton to live but you also dont pay as much as you do here, but this place still is not all you have cracked it up to be. Ben does not try to make everyone happy thats complete a bunch of bull. with the all the work they have done we have been inconvenienced with all that tar that was supposed to make the pavement so much better that just all washed down the drain yeah thats great i had to walk around my building in the dirt when its raining because i had no and i mean no pathway to my apartment. I'm sure the peoples house we were having to walk behind were happy to. The parking completly sucks you will be lucky to find a place to park. dont be surprised if you have a leak coming from your ceiling in the garage (seen it happen twice). Oh and all the painting has been horrible they try to do like 3 buildings at once leave the ladders up right by your balconies so anyone could climb up anytime. and when you hear them at 8:00 in the morning on sat, you have to get up and shut your windows because you have no privacy (3 times now) they cant even give you proper notice to paint and you dont know when the painters will decide to show up.
With the old apartment manager she was freaking great compared to ben all you care about is money in your own pocket man~ and i know your going to respond to this with an attitude like your so sorry but i am to if things would have been handled differently we would have renuied our lease and were one of the ones who have always always paid our rent on time. Thanks!

I agree with the previous comment... Renton is rough, we all know that. But when the ORIGINAL new team came in, they did a great job cleaning it up. Ben has done nothing but hurt this community. The previous manager was friendly, courteous, professional AND there were activities that made living there much better than it is now. Ben - just so you know, I'm one of the residents that decided to move out - BECAUSE OF YOU AND YOUR POOR MANAGEMENT. I give credit to the other staff just because they can stomach working for you. I feel sorry for them and I'm sure they liked the previous manager better, too. And if you had anything to do with the paint colors - you should get a new job! They're disgusting.
