I loved living at Woodcliffe apartments, except for a few issues. First, the good: 1. Spacious apartments with fireplaces, and an in-unit washer / dryer. Everything is well maintained, and clean. 2. Covered parking spot included with your rent 3. Great views of downtown Renton 4. Reasonable rent. 5. If you get into buildings T-Y, your buildings are up against a green-belt, and you have access to a large area to walk dogs, ride dirt bikes, etc. 6. Aside from issues you may have with noisy neighbors (which can happen everywhere), it is very quiet. 7. Nice workout room, nice hot tub, and an outdoor pool.
Now, the bad: 1. Smoking is allowed in the apartments. One of my neighbors was a chain smoker, and the stench traveled up the walls, and entered my apartment where the pipes came through. Especially in my bedroom closet, so all of my clothes smelt horrendous. Management told me that there was nothing they could do to stop it, but would seal the points of entry. This never happened. 2. Maintenence seems to need to enter your apartment for this or that every other month, which is sort of intrusive. 3. This is a HUGE one. They state in the lease agreement that you need to give a 60 day notice of your intent to leave. This is an unenforcable clause as per the Landlord Tennant Act. I brought this up, and the reason for this was described to me as "Well, that is the law, but this is out policy". The company that owns and manages this property is located out of state, and they have a standard lease, so this is why it contains an illegal clause, that still hasn't been removed from the loan. 4. If you decide to stay on a month-to-month basis, they charge you an extra $100 on top of what they raise the rent to.
