beautiful, but just not worth the money for the noise.

these comments are exerpts from my notice to vacate. these are the issues which have caused me to decide to move:
-----
First and foremost: unresponsive property owners and management.
Theft. My car stereo was stolen from my car in the locked parking garage approx. 3 months after I moved here. Instead of hiring security after hours to ensure safety, razor wire was placed at the top of the fences separating the residential garage from DC steakhouse parking. Given the long list of other issues regarding the safety and comfort of living at saffron I feel this action was not satisfactory. For the record, former management told me that there were 'no other incidents reported' after the razor wire went up, but I fail to see how that made a difference with the two security doors that rarely close all the way.
Disrespectful landscapers. Leaf blowers and weed whackers at all hours, including those reserved for 'quiet time' in my lease. I am sure they are out there whacking weeds under my window at 7:45 in the morning because someone has told them to be there. This notion crosses my mind a lot, and is why my first complaint is with management and ownership of this property.
Thoughtless retailer staff. Closing staff members at the ice cream shop continually peel out of the parking lot and create noise as late as midnight. Other establishments produce less unreasonable noise due to their shorter hours, but this place is a zoo in the summer... the least that could be done is remind the people who run the shop that there are residents behind them there windows.
Disrespectful patrons. Car alarms, loud conversations in the parking lot late at night, honking, and loud stereos.
To have built a complex without air conditioning, constructed buildings out of heat conductive metal siding with absolutely no hope for a crosswind throughout the units, and to have also excluded the addition of a re-circulating fan, was a complete mistake. These apartments get HOT and the constant noise becomes more of an issue when having to have my windows open to receive any ventilation at all. With the amount of money I pay to live here I expect this place to be of a comfortable temperature, just like the leasing office always seems to be.
Oblivious delivery services. I have lost count of the number of times my apartment has been filled with disgusting diesel exhaust from delivery trucks idling under my windows, sometimes for as long as a half hour. The lack of any ventilation for these apartments increases the aggravation caused by this, and frankly I wonder how good this polluted air is for my two cats when I am gone during the day.
Cut leasing office hours. Not open on weekends now' Some people need to get packages from the office, some people WORK for a living and cant come in during office hours to take care of their Saffron business during the week. On the occasions I have re-arranged my schedule and come in or called during leasing office hours, 80% of the time no one is available to assist me. The office is locked up and I am rarely able to retrieve my packages. Guests of mine need to be buzzed in during the day. The leasing office should be available for current residents as well as future ones, as it once was before the staff changes.
I've had to call the cops at least 3 times in the last 6 months because of on site harassment and noise.
For some reason, you can't seem to keep the elevators working. I've been trapped inside them twice in the time I've lived here, and at least twice a month one of them is sunken down to the bottom of its shaft, sitting open, waiting to be serviced.
------
gorgeous places, like none i have ever seen. but i've had my vanity apartment and am off to find something more practical.
