Nice place, but not worth the money

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2001
The office staff was great when we moved in, but is now completely unresponsive since the management changed. They cut office hours (finally relented and had weekend hours again), are unhelpful and unknowledgeable WHEN they're available, and put signs on every available surface - very tacky for such a nice place.
The apartment was great - we love it! It's relatively new, and had a couple minor problems with the heat, and a gassy smell from the fireplace, but most problems have been resolved.
Parking is in a secure garage, but this is essentially worthless. Our car stereo was stolen, as were several others (all in one night) from the locked garage. Security doors didn't close, although that was fixed after the breakins. Garage door opens by itself at times, and sticks open occasionally. Regardless of liability concerns, when informed about the theft of our car stereo, the management simply did NOT care. They made no attempt to contact us.
Others have complained about the noise from ceiling fans, and I hear them in the hall, but not our apartment. They are quite noisy in the hall, and the location itself could be noise - some apartments face a wooded area and are quiet. There is almost no apartment-to-apartment noise.
Due to the service, and the high rent, we are gone the minute our lease is up, if not sooner. It's a shame, because this really is a beautiful apartment.
