Nice property, management needs improvement.

I moved into this property in April 08. I was given a unit right next to the garbage chute, so while I'd like to complain about the noise from the garbage area realistically I should have expected it upon accepting this unit. I think everybody should realize that when you move into an apartment you *will* hear your neighbors. Its just part of the game. But be aware that this property is located in a commercial area. Restaurant patrons are loud, people lay on their horns way too much, and landscaping crews are also very loud.
The apartment itself was turned very poorly. The walls were damaged, there were paint fingerprints on light figures, and my refrigerator, and there was obviously no care given to the paint job as none of the trim lines were clean. To anybody considering leasing here, I highly suggest being very picky during your move-in inspection, and not accepting a unit turned this poorly.
My biggest complaint is with my leasing agent. I don't feel it's necessary to be rude but since the day I moved in I've felt very unwelcomed. I was waiting to receive a renewal notice, which never came. So I went into the leasing office to find that one of the agents had put me on a month to month lease. I was explained that this is something that she has every right to do, which is fine, but I feel like there should have been some sort of notice or heads up. It felt very unprofessional that none of these actions were explained to me ,verbally or in writing, until I went in blind trying to figure out what was going on. In the end, other properties will treat you better.
Parking is adequate, there are always spots available but break ins are a problem.
The grounds are well taken care of, but back to the noise issue don't expect to be able to sleep in on landscaping days.
As far as construction goes, while I don't seriously think the balconies are dangerous, they move a little too much for my tastes. The layout of the studio is nice, with a separate loft area for some privacy and a built in work area. But I wonder how much of my square footage comes from a small area of floor underneath the loft area.
Ive rated maintenance low due to the careless paint job and turn. (A turn being the maintenance they do to prepare for a new resident moving in).
I'd give Saffron a poor rating overall, because there are better prices, more professional staff, and better maintenance at other properties.
