Saxony is a nice apartment complex. I really like staff and my apartment, but there are a few things that potential renters should be aware of.

This complex is in Sammamish on the plateau. There are very few ways off of the plateau, so the commute can be very long. I usually commute north to near Redmond Town Center and it can take anywhere from 20 minutes to 40 minutes to drive 6 miles.

I can't hear my neighbors when they are in there apartments, but there are some external noises that are insanely loud. If you are near the garbage dumpster, be prepared for them to arrive at 6 a.m. and make more noise than a marching band. Many of the residents have dogs, so you will hear some barking from time to time. The doors to the stairwells make for some very loud banging when your neighbors leave for work(mine leave at 5 a.m.).

I'm fairly new to the NW, and I can't figure out why the HVAC systems in every place I have looked at would seem antiquated to someone from 1950. The thermostat consists of a cheap plastic knob with some tick marks for the temp you want. Not very accurate. I also haven't seen one apartment complex that has air conditioning. I realize it doesnt get that hot here, unless of course you live in a third floor apartment. I tend to like to leave the windows closed due to allergies. It is not uncommon for my apartment to reach 80 degrees on a day when it is 68 outside. It took me about 2 weeks to break down and buy a portable air conditioner.

The staff is a plus here. They are very nice people and not too hard on the eyes, either.
