Some things never change - still noisy, still horrible management

I have been living here for almost a year and I cannot wait to move out at the end of the month. My biggest complaint by far would be the management/maintenance staff. With the exception of the girl who originally showed us the apartment and help us with our lease, the whole experience with them has been terrible. Anytime something goes wrong and we put in a maintenance call, they never show up. We have to call back 3 or 4 times and become insistent and borderline rude before they take anything seriously and actually send someone out. Another thing about this apartment is the noise level from traffic on Eastlake Ave and construction. There isn't much that can be done about that, but just keep it in mind if you are considering signing a lease here. The apartments themselves are pretty clean and functional since the building is only 10 years old or so. They aren't anything special as far as design goes, considering what they charge here (the awful fluorescent lighting in the kitchen could definitely use an upgrade.) The walls are thin which makes it easy to hear your neighbors, but for the most part the residents here are really respectful and everyone mostly keeps to themselves so that hasn't been much of an issue. Overall, I would say if you can put up with noise and crappy management, you'll be happy here. One last thing, cars out on the street here get broken into quite often, so we chose to pay an extra $65/month to park in the "secure" underground parking garage...which had several cars get broken into about 2 months ago. But did the management send out a notice to tell people that' Heck no, that would be like trying to help and protect your residents, we heard about it from our neighbor who had his window smashed in and laptop stolen. Luckily we were not targeted since we do not keep valuables in the car. Just thought I'd throw that in there.
