Yo!

Before signing a lease, investigate this complex thoroughly.

Before signing a lease, investigate this complex thoroughly. When I moved in, the management staff seemed friendly and accommodating. After voicing concerns about the complex, itās cleanliness, security and lack of attention to facilities management; the niceties apparently are only window dressing.

Let me run down a few of the issues I have with 2900 on 1st.

1)The complex is always dirty. The elevators reek and are simply filthy. The hallways are seldom cleaned. The walls are dirty. The lobby is the only semi neat place in the building, and you should be on the look out for dog feces and vomit in the lobby on weekends.

2)The parking facility is atrocious. Several cars have been broken into since Iāve been a resident. Parking is tight, due to columns in the garage space. It looks like there is a lot of parking room, but unless you drive a sub-compact, itāll be a tight squeeze. There are leaking pipes dripping waste water in the garage.

3)Security is very lax. The main garage doors are frequently left open. I saw a homeless person sleeping in the lobby last weekend. The front lobby door was left open one evening.

4)The appointments in the units are shoddy. Appliances are functional, at best. Cheap fixtures and poorly maintained.

5)Garbage is often overflowing in the garage.

6)Three months in, I still have not received an executed copy of the lease.

7)Fitness Area and Pool are filthy. I walked out to check out the pool a few weeks ago and it was full garbage and a couple of patio chairs, which had been thrown in.

In short, there are many newer, cleaner buildings, with excellent facilities and appointments for the same money. As an example, a unit across the street was renting for $1200, which included parking, storage unit, 24 hour concierge, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and more.

Investigate before signing a lease.
