Decent place to live

I lived here with a roommate for about a year. The landlord, Virginia, is a decent, friendly person who managed the place well, coming by regularly to maintain the complex even though she lived offsite, responded promptly to any requests and so on. The units had wood-style linoleum and the walls were clean, though we had to be careful to keep the bathrooms ventilated because mold tended to grow in enclosed spaces. She installed a second washer/dryer set during my lease, which is plenty for a complex with about 6-8 units. A $40 fee got you your own parking space, though there's only enough space in the parking lot for one vehicle per person, with no public parking. Parking on the street isn't allowed either, a challenge when having visitors over.
The neighbors are mostly college students, a quiet, pleasant crowd, though partiers down the street sometimes blast their stereos during the weekend nights, but otherwise no big deal. The neighborhood's usually peaceful and I never felt in danger here, which is more than I can say for most areas in the U District.
The deposit was sizable, $700 for the 2-bed if I recall correctly, but I did a thorough job cleaning out the place before I moved out and received my full deposit back afterward. Rent was a bit high for studios and one beds, but the two bed and 3-bed prices weren't bad, and may be a great deal for 2-3 roommates.
