hard to believe i have been here nearly 3yrs... must be the location and my lack of interest in moving.
apathy describes the managment. they are nice enough, but fail to understand that as building managers their responsibilities extend beyond the rent role. a couple of examples:
the trash bins have been removed from in front of the building and the space by the mailboxes. the explanation was something to the effect, "there are a lot of people in this building and i don't know if you know how much trash that is. we would have to empty it almost every day..."
when lease was signed (oh four or five managers ago) i was assured that there was 24hr onsite presence for emergencies, maintenance. one would think if you are the property manager with that responsibility then you would do better than keep the cellphone on voicemail and screen your calls.... this becomes a problem when they decide to reprogram the electric key passes or garage door openers on the same day and then deprogram several of the tenants. my neighbors had this happen to them and were told that they work hard and sometimes they just need to take time for themselves and go to a yoga class, and that was why the phone was off for a couple of hours. they were told they would have to deal with this on their own like adults if they owned their own place, so deal with it. sorry, that is why we pay too much rent, so we don't have to deal with it, and that is why they get paid and subsidized to live here....
sarah is reasonable, but pretty passive and seems to follow behind her husband, ken, who has no tact nor sense of professionalism. sadly, they appear to feel threatened by the tenants, and have tried to minimize any involvement or unecessary responsibilities... like leaving the garage door manually opened for days or the front door propped open for hours, unattended, compromising the 'safety' of the building.
and several of the pet owners occasionally let their pooches pee in the public areas... shame shame
if it weren't for the location, i would be elsewhere.

Funny that people would stay in a place for three years when there are dozens of apartments that are just as centrally located if things are so bad, the managers have always been cool to me
