I moved to Seattle September 2006 from the East Coast and thought I found a great place to live in Alcyone. Even though I remained steadfast through the ridiculous noise [construction, music studio, garbage trucks (my, how that glass sounds falling into those trucks, it literally scares my pets every time)], I can no longer justify staying here. In a year and a half, my rent has been raised 3 times. They love to jack it up on renewal, the first apartment complex I've ever lived in that has increased rent on every opportunity. They assume you'd rather pay it than hassle with moving. Oh, they raised parking for those ridiculous small spaces also. The first month I was there, my toilet tank busted, water was all over the apartment. The maintenance guy was "camping" and wouldn't be back for 2 days. So there was standing water on my floor for 2 days. With the old management group, they gave you til the 5th to pay rent. The new one dropped it to the fourth, which is fine, but they didn't let people know until it was renewal time. The new group changed the building's "quiet hours", but didn't communicate that either. If you face west and we have another repeat summer, it'll get to about 95 degrees in your apartment because of lack of circulation. Avoid Alcyone like the plague. Like one other reviewer said, buy a condo for these absurd prices.

i hate the alcyone!!! this place sucks!!! the music studio has parties every night and gangster rappers pump bass all day in the parking lot out side. it gets hot as hell and right now I have my windows open and cant sleep at 4 am because theres a party in the alley for the fifth time this month and the nickel and diming property managers wont do anything about it. not to mention that the apartments are crap! they put these things together with the cheapest stuff there is. they way over charge, more than any apartment in the area. STAY AWAY!!!!
