Living at Alcyone has been the longest year of my life. We move out next week and I'm not even sure if we'll make it that long. This place is miserable. We pay close to $2000/month for a "living/working loft". It's a total piece of ----. There's a gap at least 1 1/2 inches big under our door to the outside alley behind the complex so in the winter it's FREEZING in here (somehow they claim to be energy efficient too, which is beyond me). In the summer it's hot as hell and you need to open the windows but there's absolutely no circulation. That leads me to another issue.... There's a music studio in the alley right across from our loft. It's currently 4 am and they're all partying outside screaming and yelling with no regard for the fact that people LIVE HERE. We've discussed this with the property managers SEVERAL times and all they do is make a little note for our file. They don't care about the people living in their building, they just care about collecting the rent check. There garbage truck comes several times a week, either at 6 am or 10:30 pm and is so loud that you can forget about watching TV or sleeping for that matter. I would highly recommend staying away from this place, unless anything in this review sounds appealing.

I absolutely agree with everything you have stated. When my husband and I lived there, we literally did not get a solid night's sleep. We faced the alley as well, a few floors up. They were building the trolley station at the time. Combining the noise from the construction of the station, the pub down stairs, the recording studio and the garbage truck, we literally thought we would go insane. The glass bottles going into the recycling truck was a real treat. We also felt like ants under a magnifying glass during the summer months. I am glad you are getting the hell out of there. We have been so much happier since we left.
