The management at Alki Beach Properties are very, very nice. I am currently renting one of their apartments on 4050 California Ave SW. Unfortunately, I have problems with this apartment which I will list below.
I would NOT recommend the apartments at 4050 California Ave SW. They are adequate for two people, but no more. The apartments are: 2 bdr and 1 bth @ 740 sq. feet, 2 closets and the kitchen is very insufficent/small. On the recycling: there need to be more bins, 3 bins just do not suffice for 6 units when it seems the recyling isn't picked up every week! It was always falling out of the bins and under my vehicle. More often than not, I had to throw my recycling in the dumpster as the recyling was full! I have called the management about the pickup, or lack thereof, so they know about it.
I also did not like amount of bushes surrounding the building. It made me very, very wary walking up to my apartment at night with the blind corners and all the bushes. It is VERY hard to see the complex from California Ave SW. So be sure to ask them why all the bushes aren't cut further down as it hides the building from the road.
Also be sure to ask the management why all the doors on the apartments are bolted back together and if it's due to break-ins. I believe the bushes surrounding and hiding the building led to my apartment on the 3rd floor being broken into in the middle of an sunny afternoon back in 8/01.
