Bad value - I stopped by the admin office 5 times to ask why the rent was being increased by 10%. Never got an answer and had to pay the increase. The admin folk are pleasant and professional (new doorperson is great), but management is unresponsive, as notes above.
I'm on a 3-month lease at $1365.00 for a studio apartment, at a minimum, you would expect: in-suite washer/dryer (only dirty communal laundry room), balcony (not provided), air conditioning (not available), good lighting (windows are tiny), and the building is old.
Check this out: this morning (Sept. 1), I find a ticket for $35.00 on my windshield because I failed to pay September's parking fee $135.00 exactly on time (the August pass is clearly displayed on my rear-view mirror). That's plain cheap!
They also squeeze money out of tenants by charging for laundry: $1.25 for wash and $1.00 for dry in the communal laundry room. I would expect that if I were paying $600/month in a middle-of-the-road location. I guess this is middle-of-the-road at top-of-the-line prices. Cheap!
They want to increase rent again to $1480.00 next month - for what' For the poor service' Parts of the building have been renovated, but this is very low value for the buck. I'm outta here!

I have to agree, granted this is Belltown but they want too much money. A studio without a washer/dryer is $1300. The inside is old too. They are updating some apartments with new carpet, cabinets, stoves but for a 468 sq ft place and $1300??? That is insane. After my 11 month lease is up they do want a 10% increase but literally brand new studios across the street with washer/dryer and hardwood like flooring is renting for $1008. This is with microwave and parking is $95. I would suggest to keep looking. Archstone is exploiting the highrise, big building theme but little do they understand in the last 9 months three building in a 60 ft radius have been apartments for #300 - $400 less with the same amenities and no big building overhead costs they burden the residents with.
