Reading these reviews really sucks in a lot of ways, since I didn't know Athena when it was apartments. I am currently renting from an owner on the third floor, and this is the best place I've ever lived, bar none. The on-site maintenance person is funny, attentive, and really cares about the building. The management company is mediocre, but you only have to deal with them when you move in and you move out. The association meets every month, same time every month, and addresses concerns promptly, though the renters are left out of this loop. Like any condo community, there's an equal share of jerks who don't care as there are people who genuinely care about the building, so some things are hit or miss. However, the rooftop deck is beautiful, the grills are always available, the grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The neighborhood has EVERYTHING you could want: two grocery stores, many restaurants and bars to cater to every budget, and if you can ignore a few panhandlers on Mercer, you can walk around with ease, by yourself. Parking is off and on, but if you have a reserved spot, you'll generally not have a problem. Street parking is available with a permit or by meter.

If you're considering buying or renting here, I'd say go for it. I can't say enough good things about this place. The only reason we're moving is my wife's school is in another state, we have to leave. :(

It is sad to me that Athena went Condo. The apartments were amazing, the building was well cared for, and the management was always so nice. I lived in 2 different apartments there, #101 (the only ground floor apt) and #501 (I believe...it's been a couple of years). The view was unbeatable! The neighbors were so friendly, and being a single girl was great because of all the cute young professionals! Athena was a great place to live, and I honestly haven't found anything that compares...
