Ugh...I don't even know where to begin. I moved in to the Avalon because I was relocating from out of state and needed a large-dog friendly place...FAST. They had a studio available so I took it, not realizing that it is overpriced for the lack of amenities. The ONLY amenity is the work out center, which is okay at best. The worst part is the HEAT, not just in the summer, but all year round. There is a lack of ventilation that is uncomfortable in the spring and fall, and UNBEARABLE in the summer. It was so hot that my dog was sick, throwing up, from the heat. If you enjoy sleeping in an unbearably hot apartment, feel free to rent here. I'd not move back, even if the rents were reasonable (which they are anything but!)

I agree with you, we lived there and along with all of your issues, our car was stolen right out of the garage. It is very hard to find an apartment in Seattle that has Air Conditioning and I find this unacceptable as it gets very hot in the apartments and the ventilation is sub:standard. We moved to The Cobb specifically for the Air Conditioning but the if you think rent is unreasonable at the Avalon, The Cobb is the highest in Seattle. (Over 2,000 a month for a small one bedroom plus 250.00 a month to park in a public parking building.) It appears the management companies have us just where they want us, we have no choice if we want or need to live in the city.

I just think it is funny that people move into an apartment knowing that there is only a fitness center and knowing that there is no air conditioning...and then complain about it after they live there. I moved in and I love the fitness center...they made me well aware that there was only that and no pool or anything...and I knew it might get hot with no A/c....but pretty much all the apts I was looking at didnt have one...so, it was not a big deal. Anyways...I like it here. I have no complaints....and after looking around at that many many many places I saw....it seems completely worth the money I pay.
