I just moved to Ballinger Commons in June, and we've been really happy with it so far. I must admit that after seeing the reviews here, I was a bit skeptical of the place. However, we had limited time to find a place since we were moving here from out-of-state.

I'd like to address some of the concerns that I've read on this site...

The management does have its ups and downs, but most of my experiences with them have been pleasant. The lady that was our leasing agent has an incredible memory. She always welcomes us by name when she sees us come in the office or anywhere else around the apartment property. The other agents seem just as kind. We hadn't realized that there was a procedure for maintenance requests the first time we had a problem, but instead of being rude and telling us that we shouldn't have come in - the lady at the desk told us how to do it in the future and was ready to up the request in for us. Very polite and patient about it. The only time I've been frustrated with them was when I went to go pick up a package from the office, and the man at the front asked me if I had my package slip and made me feel dumb for not having it. So, I guess they could work more on letting you know how procedures work when you first move in.

Maintenance is pretty good. They are always very kind, and try their best to fix things the first time they come in. We had problems with our dishwasher pump going out. They fixed some rubber thing saying that usually that fixes the problem 95% of the time. Unfortunately, we were that 5%. They came back in and replaced our dishwasher. This took 1.5 weeks, but they did have to order it and get it set up. They also came in when we first moved in to have a look around and make sure they noted any flaws in the apartment. I had noticed some to put down on the sheet, but they noticed a lot more. This made me happy because we won't have to pay for those flaws when we move out. Very meticulous.

Parking seems to be fine. We only have one car so we usually park that in our carport, but whenever we have friends over for dinner or out-of-town guests, they always can find parking. I understand from notices posted on the mailboxes that there used to be a problem with car burglary, but that seems to have been about a year ago. I always see the Ballinger Commons cars driving around making sure that everything is as safe as can be. Shoreline police even drive through occasionally at night just as part of their route.

I noticed in the last review a complaint regarding neighbors. Sure, it is always good to find out who your neighbors are, but if they are bad, it isn't the complex's fault. You can have bad neighbors even if you live in a house.

We are really happy with the layout of the apartment. The second bedroom is a bit tight, but workable.

Anyway, we've been pretty happy with this place, and I wanted to add my opinion to the others that seem so dismal.

"Good Apartment" author is definitely an employee of Bre, trying to put some good comments in for this HELL they call an apartment.

I lived there 2 yrs, and thought things were "ok", but things got progressively worse after the first year. Warning: Car burglary goes up in the summer. They didn't get me the 1st year, but got me 2x the second year...even though cops and the night-guard were patrolling, etc. My mailbox was also broken into, and when I suggesed management consider installing video cameras (at the boxes and around parking lots), she said they didn't typically help much (!!??) -- not that they'd ever tried that route. She also said since the mailboxes had been broken into a few times before that they were now going to put a gate up that they could use to close the mailboxes off at night (Why did they wait for multiple MULTIPLE break-ins?) PUtting in a gate is certainly cheaper than a security camera system, but since the culprets used welding tools to open up the mailboxes, I can't imagine a little metal gate deterring these folks. I felt very much like the company is out for $, and cared very little for the concerns of the customers. I still feel that way, as I've lived in multiple complexs in multiple states, and this is the first time i've ever posted bad ratings. I'm very happy this has worked out for you. I hope it continues. Unfortunately, the longer I stayed, the worse things got. Maybe your luck will hold out better than the rest of us. I read these ratings before moving here from out of state and figured only people who wrote here were gripers. Well, this is pretty much true, but with due reason. Rent with extreme caution. they catch you with a LOT of extra charges on the way in and the way out -- especially if you own a pet. These were the worst pet charges I've EVER experienced in my 12 years of renting apartments.
