I have one thing to say. Stay away from this place, stay far away! I rented a unit last year because I was moving to Seattle for work and needed a place to live, quick. I signed a contract that probably killed a small forest (over 18 pages Long!). Upon move in the problems started and have been continuing ever since. The apartment was supposed to have had the carpet replaced, it was not. When I asked they said the carpet was fine. Although they cannot tell me when this particular carpet was installed. The appliances are at least 20 years old, and do not work properly. (refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, washing machine and dryer) When I inquired about replacing the out of date appliances I was told I could pay a fee to have them "upgraded". Staff regularly posts information on your door as well as personal financial information. Announcing you are not at home. A practice that is illegal and a security risk as well. I have asked the staff to stop this repeatedly, in writing, and the staff continues to post notices on my door. The only excuse for this is "we have 495 units to take care of we cannot handle it any other way." Vacant units will have these notices on their door until they are blown away. If you owe any money they will post this with your name address and the amount owed on your door. Maintenance is a huge concern, I had to request maintenance 3 times and they violated the legal time frame to respond (12 days). Once they did show up they repaired 2 items out of 8. I am still waiting, six weeks later, for the rest including the clean-up of a 6 square foot patch of mold growing behind the leaky washing machine. BTW none of their maintenance personnel are bonded, so you let them into your home at your own risk. I am dissappointed, dismayed and disgusted with this place. I will go out of my way to make sure no one will fall victim to this poor excuse for a housing unit. Run away from this place, as fat as you can.

I agree with you with the posting of fees but other notices in any complex is the same through the state they need to do something about it. they dont upgrade anything and only have 5 or so guys trying to put band adis on the whole property they need to hire more staff and give the units more care the maintenance personnel are insured through BRE properties

My husband and I toured the property today. We were blown away by the beautiful landscaping and very professional staff. I don't normally post responses for properties I don't know about. However, Ballinger Commons is definitely a property that I would consider as our new home.
I must say. Posting notices and/or balance owing notes are in fact not illegal. I am currently a Leasing Consultant for another property and practice the same method of communication. Although my property does not have as many units, it makes more sense to post leaflets than have to call everybody. If at any time you are out of town, do let the office know, this will help in not getting so many postings left on your door - that in turn let others know you're away.

I was taken in by the beautiful landscaping when I first toured the place too, j_staylor04. In fact, it was pretty much the main reason I chose to ive at Ballinger Commons; the woods, the ponds, the neighborhood way the complex is set up - seemed like a perfect place to raise my child. Yes, the splendor of the landscaping IS breathtaking.
But as with many other things in life, looks can be deceiving. Don't get me wrong, the landscaping is still beautiful, but unless you plan to live in the woods, the rest is...well, I agree with the OP. Run, and never look back.
BC is not at all what it was 6 years ago (when I first moved in) and not what it appears to be (now that I've left).
