I've lived here only 3 months now on a month-to-month lease, but I've had very similar experiences to everything else: The apartment has great curb appeal, but once you move in you notice all the little "hokey" things. "Hokey" is the term used by the guy who walked me through the apartment himself as I first pulled out the astonishingly cheap drawers for the first time (having already signed the lease).

Everything looks good, nothing works quite right. I lucked out and got a new washer, dryer, and dishwasher. As a result the washer and dryer work pretty well, but the dishwasher is pretty weak. I almost always have to run some of the dishes through twice - and not pots and pans either, this thing won't do knives appropriately

The drawers are almost impossible to explain if you haven't seen them, they are so astonishingly cheap. Oh, and the top drawer works better than all the rest, so if you check them out yourself, make sure you see how bad the *second* drawer is.

There are rats in the garbage atm as well. This is basically because the setup for the garbage cans wasn't really well thought out and it is very difficult to reach the far side of the garbage which results in people stacking garbage up outside the garbage bins and attracting rats. Management's response has been to put up signs indicating that resident's shouldn't put garbage outside the containers, but not fixing the actual problem
