The BelRoy is overpriced, but they've gotten away with it because they allowed dogs and tenants with dogs don't have as many rental options so they'll go ahead and pay the rent. In the BelRoy, I was paying almost $2.00 per square foot for a 1 bedroom. Now, I pay $1.40 per square foot for a place with a better view, no highway noise, higher ceilings, and better maintenance. And the BelRoy had a massive deposit requirement ($1000 for a 1 bedroom when I was there). My new place doesn't. If the new managers think they can charge the same rents and fill the place without allowing dogs, they're completely nuts.
