I recently moved to Seattle from across the country. I had to find an apartment before I arrived and ended up choosing Cascadia. I was nervous that the apartment wouldn't be what was represented in the photos. As soon as I walked through the door I was able to have a big sigh of relief.
The apartments are beautiful. Hardwoods floors, lots of natural light, old world charm. My 1 bedroom has tons of room.
The location is awesome. Walking distance to anything you would ever need. On many buslines. That empty lot that was referred to in another review is now a Trader Joes. On your same block you also have Madison Market and there are several chain grocery stores just a few blocks away.
There is the lot with 6 first come, first serve spots but I have never had a problem finding street parking.
Laundry is on site. There is a "recycle" area in the basement where residents can place clothing, furniture, etc that they no longer want. This has been awesome and has supplied my apartments with several things.
The apartment manager is friendly and always around if you need anything. Things are kept in good shape and response time is fast to any issues.
The only thing that bugged me about the place is that even though it is a nonsmoking building there would be many times the smell of smoke would drift into my apartment.
Another thing I would change is the shower takes forever to get hot water at night but seriously I am extremely happy with the apartment.
