I understand that some people have their own unique experiences, but I want share my experience living at the Centennial Tower for the past 2 years - which has been super. I am an MD and I appreciate living in urban Seattle. I am writing this only because I hope any prospective tenants will consider living at the Centennial. With respect to:
Maintenance staff: Wonderful and super-duper prompt. When I told office staff that my refrigerator died, in less than a half an hour, I had a new and better fridge. While the maintenance staff were here (Tim and Paul), they fixed a cabinet in my kitchen, replaced bulbs and touched up scuffs on my walls. Amazing.
Office Staff: Always helpful and attentive. Once I was out of state at a meeting and I forgot to pay rent before I left. They waived the late fee (because I had never been late) and they were very gracious.
Door Staff: Over-the-top great and helpful. Really. I adore them.
Safety: I have never felt unsafe here, as a single female. I am from the urban Northeast, still, security is as good as it can be. I visited a friend across the street at Fountain Court and I felt safety was so much less controlled there. People were letting a zillion others in without authorization.
Noise: I am very sensitive to noise and my apartment is practically serene... I live on the 2nd floor of the tower (potentially the noisiest floor, with the gym and lounge), and I have only complained about sounds once in 2 years. The complaint was dealt with promptly. My apartment faces Vine, so I don't get much of the 4th ave sounds. Still, this is a relatively quiet part of Belltown, and I can't imagine if you have lived in any city that the city sounds will be a problem.
Construction: Apparently the Tower is older than the Court, but I feel the appliances and construction are top-notch. I read some of these comments mentioning "paper thin walls" and I have to disagree. Except once in 2 years, I have never had to complain about neighbors' noise. Serious.
Parking: Pricey, but standard for Belltown. Safe and ample. Regardless of the time I arrive home, I find (unreserved) parking on the first level.
Area: Coffeehouses, great french bakery, music venues galore, awesome restaurants, running paths, Seattle center, simply awesome. Even from the 2nd floor, I have views of the 4th of July and new year fire works from my apartment. Friends are envious.
Other: Newly renovated pool, hot tub, sauna, awesome gym. Nice neighbors, overall.
PS: I obviously love it here. I have absolutely zero incentive to write this except that I might attract great people to live here.
