Poorly Managed & Maintained.

I've lived at Cinebar for almost two years as well.
I really liked it at first- low rent, large apartment, good location.
Then management started shifting, and with that the quality of living went way down.
The grounds are ridiculously poorly maintained, laundry facilities are a joke, and since the newest on-site "manager" has joined us it seems like all the groundskeeping is going on only on her side of the complex.
During the snow storms NO maintenance was done to paths or stairs, causing a very serious safety hazard.
The building is aging very poorly and maintenance is hard to come by.
Single pane windows are causing moisture and mold problems that are ignored when complained about.
Even emergencies are ignored! Broken appliances, water leaks- and you can't reach "management" on the phone, because I guess she just decides when she wants to work and when she doesn't.
Don't bother leaving a message, those aren't returned.
Oh, and good luck reaching the Management Company RP Management! The numbers they list online aren't in service, and the offices aren't listed.
A bit shady...
So many more complaints- NOISE, is insane! I can hear my neighbords fighting, playing terribly loud music and having sex at all hours just like they were in my apartment with me! I understand a little noise, but the level at Cinebar is unacceptable.
And management does nothing to enforce "quiet hours".
Rent has increased (once without legal length of notice) 3 times in less than two years, and I'm now paying over market value for what an apartment my size is worth in GOOD condition.
much less aging, leaning and smelling of wet wood and mold.
These buildings were built in '62 and never once overhauled or remodeled- think about that.
Don't move here, really.
They start you out with lower rents to get you in, but that's where the plusses stop at Cinebar.
You can find better! Look up on Queen Anne and over in Magnolia- same rents for BETTER APARTMENTS! Happy renting
UPDATE- And one more thing! I'm moving to a new place that I THOUGHT was smaller, because they told me my apartment was 920 square feet when I moved in (and I didn't get out my measuring tape and check, because why would a place lie about that') and turns out it's over 100 sq ft bigger! They LIED to me about my apartment size when I signed the lease and before I viewed it.
It feels large because it's very long, so I didn't question it.
But here's one MORE reason not to rent here!!

We had some of the same problems. When we moved in, the new on-site management was also moving in. We asked both in person and in writing for copies of our lease and never got them. We also asked for screens for our windows and never got them, as well as fixing on our stove/oven, which never happened.
And the moisture problem was definitely present. It was disgusting how much water came in through our bedroom window. I finally just left a towel there to soak it up because in the middle of the night, water would start streaming down the wall and hitting the heater below.
Plus, there was black and also orangy-pink mildew in various places, like our windows, door and bathroom.
I was told the apt. was 800 sq. ft when we moved in, and I'm beginning to wonder, because my husband and I just moved into an 800 sq ft. 2-bedroom place and it seems a bit bigger--the only thing smaller is the bathroom.
As of right now, we should legally be getting our deposit back by tomorrow, and I'm doubting that will happen.
