My experience has been good

I've been living here since I moved to Seattle. My goal was to find a nice 2BR/1BA in Seattle, with free parking, under $1000, and that allowed cats. This was (and is) the place. I was surprised to read the number of negative reviews, since I've had an overall good experience here.
I think a lot of the complaints on this site are from people who have lived in apartments facing the street. You don't want the apartments facing Greenwood or 130th, but probably others are ok. My apartment faces the elementary school -- not much of a view, but it's quiet. I would advise that you at least be shown where your apartment is located, if you can't be shown the interior.
Security, management, and maintenance are pretty responsive. Right now I have some noisy neighbors, so I've complained to the management. They will warn the neighbors and escalate if needed.
As to amenities and such, it's not amazing or anything, but all in all it's a cozy place to live. Good news: management seems stable finally. Bad news: LOTS of memos to renters. I personally don't like to be bothered with checking fire systems, alarm systems, etc. They got out of the crappy cable contract, but are imposing a fee for garbage. Is the nickle and diming commencing' I don't know, but it feels like it.
