Maybe this is a nice place to live but moving out is an incredible hassle.

I have a friend that gave their notice two days before the required 20 day notice date (I was THERE when they dropped it in the drop box) and the management staff swear up and down that they didn't receive it until 4 days later, I know for a fact that my friend was nowhere near that building from the time they dropped their letter to a day AFTER the manager says they got it.

When this was brought up with the HSC Real Estate representative they firmly stood by their managing staff and citing supposed video footage of them NOT being in the building on the day they dropped the notice off (later the management stated that the video also couldn't prove my friend WASN'T there on the day they say they received the notice--I mean, COME ON) did nothing for my friend.

My friend went about their business moving out on time, getting signed forms that the company received the keys, a signed form for a sheduled walk through, and a signed form from the walk through saying it was in perfect condition.

Since then HSC Real Estate has continued to pursue payment for another month of rent and late fees for that month, a month in which my friend was not a resident and had given ample notice to vacate for. HSC ALSO sent this request NOT to the forwarding address my friend gave them but to their parent's house, out of state which is an incredibly tricky move.

This bulding is in no way worth moving into, the management from top to bottom is obviously either incompetent or just plain malicious and greedy, either way they are perfectly willing to lie and attempt to get extra rent from tenants who either don't know their rights or are too nice to fight back. I don't know about you but most of the people I know don't have an extra $1000 lying around to pay off corrupt landlords just to avoid an illegal hassle.

To be treated so poorly for no reason vetos anything good about this building, period.
