In the time that I've been there, The Edwards went from mediocre to just plain down and out horrible.

Firstly, the management was unresponsive and although they were polite at times, they like to avoid fixing problems. They didn't care when all of the keys to the apartments were stolen. They didn't change any locks when this happened, they didn't change any locks when apartments began to get broken in to using these stolen keys and they didn't care when people tried to jimmy the front door with a screwdriver. They sincerely do not care about the safety and security of the people in the building. The "leasing consultant" also failed to mention the controlled heat when we moved in. She told us we can control it ourselves which was not true and we froze our first night there. The heat is never on when you need it to be so be ready to freeze during winter. They never even turn on the heat when they are legally required to either and when they do, it's never to the temperature that they are legally required to either.

The maintenance people were nosey and rude and didn't do any of the maintenance work right. It also took them a very long time to do even the littlest thing. They are untrained and looked out of it most of the time.

Secondly, the hallways smell horrible and are hazordous to breath the air in there while walking to the apartment. It is full of smoke, and the smell of marijuana fills the hallways too.

Thirdly, the apartment was so old. No matter how much the carpet is changed or the walls painted, the place will always look and feel very lived in.

Fourthly, the noise from outside is constant. There are people yelling at all times of the day. At night, the people are still yelling outside.

Lastly, there is a very nosy neighbor in the building who has been there a very long time. They will complain about everybody regardless of whether these complaints are warranted or not. The management doesn't do anything to keep this neighbor under control either and seem to have given her free reign to do whatever she wants in the building. Much the annoyance of the tenants.

Beware, beware, beware. Pet friendly is the only bonus here.

As to the smell, you must have lived on the third floor.

And I agree about the maintenance, I've called and put it a maintenance request and nothing has been done about it. Besides the last time they "fixed" something, it stopped working the next day.

You are such a complainer and I know exactly who you are. This building is great! Yeah the old maintance sucked but the new guys are great. The management just put in air freshners so it smells fantastic. Mindy the manager is very sweet and she will do anything for you. It seems like you just had a bad experience. Seattlegirl75, do you think I really care if you know who I am? I'm just relaying my experience. I think I might know who you are too...but it's not phasing me. Saying that you know who I am?! Kind of childish that that's your best response to my explaining why I wasn't happy there and why. I'm in a much better place that that dump. Air freshners can only cover up so much but not when there is so much smoke in the building...
