I have lived in this complex for 9 months, and while I haven't had too many problems, there are definitely some issues that people might not appreciate.
Pros:
* Very scenic
* some nice facilities (basketball, pool, fitness room)
* generally well maintained buildings
Cons:
* Water from faucets takes about 3 minutes to heat up
* Water is often yellow for a minute or so (old pipes I guess)
* No screens on the windows. If you live by the pond (as I do), this is a really big problem due to the bugs. You basically can't open your windows.
* Crappy hours of operation. The main office keeps business hours (and speaking of which, the hours on the door are different from the hours on the phone, which are both different from the hours listed on websites). There is an emergency line available, but I've never had to use it. These hours also affect large packages and when you can pick them up.
* Crappy laundry hours. The room is only open from 8am to 10pm, which I don't understand. It requires a building key to get in anyway, it's really inconvenient for those of us who work late.
* Extremely short notice of maintenance. One example was that they had to turn off the power for a couple hours, but their only communication was a note on my door the night before. Since I get home after their main office was closed, their contact number didn't work. The note also didn't say the timeframe for the work. When I complained, they said I should've called the operator and asked about Seattle City Light (wtf')
* Pool has short hours and is only 4 feet deep
