Great deal but elevator repair sucks

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2005
Moved in here after looking for a cheap quiet place close to my job in Northgate Seattle. The lady who helped us find our apartment was very friendly and helpful. Some of the other people in the office staff was not that great but they have improved greatly since we moved in and the current staff are all friendly, happy, and helpful.
PROS:
It is usually very quiet. Our apartment is set in a garden setting with a duck pond in front. Very pretty! The only noise we hear are from the gardeners or building crackling (old). Also hear the ducks when they come and go but that adds to the charm.
Our apartment is pretty spacious. The best parts are the plentiful windows and big lanais. It is also nice that water is included in rent but probably makes tenants waist more.
Maintenance workers are very friendly and usually quite prompt.
Safety is good! I have not noticed any crimes or problems since we moved in. Otherwise, the area around the community is quite creepy.
CONS:
When we moved in we filled out a service request that never got taken care of. Four months later we reminded them and they knew nothing about it.
Dumpsters are over-filling all the time. However, it is not only the managements fault. Some tenants DON'T know how to efficiently place their trash. Some tenants leave their trash on the ground and next morning it's spread out all over.
Elevator has been broken numerous times since we moved in. It has been VERY inconvenient. It takes them forever to fix it. Now there is a notice that it will be down for 2 weeks again. The elevator problem never seems to be taken care of. It is very frustrating and I can just imagine how badly it affects the older tenants who are forced to make their way up the stairs with their walkers.
Heaters and electrical outlets are very inconveniently located.
CONCLUSION:
Overall it's been a pleasant stay here. If we were staying longer we would probably upgrade to a larger apartment. Rent is very reasonable and it's a very nice garden setting in an otherwise questionable area of the city. THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IS THE FREAKIN ELEVATOR BREAKING DOWN ALL THE TIME.
